Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy spoke in Parliament on Monday regarding Bob Vylan’s setlist at Glastonbury Festival, saying it was “appalling and unacceptable”.
The BBC have stated that they should have cut the broadcast after lead singer Pascal Robinson-Foster, known as Bob Vylan, led a chant of “death, death to the IDF [Israel Defense Forces]” during his performance.
This has lead to backlash for both him and the BBC.
Lisa Nandy went on to ask why the broadcast “wasn’t immediately cut”.
On Sunday, Bobby Vylan responded to the comments with “I said what I said” and a statement defending his actions, and political activism. Because of this, both members of Bob Vylan have had their US visas revoked.
This fuelled further response from Bobby Vylan (Pascal Robinson-Foster), this time in the form of a video. On Monday, he took to social media with a speech on politicians, and how they should be “utterly ashamed”.
“First it was Kneecap, now it’s us two”.
“To Keir, Kemi and the rest of you, I’ll get you at a later date.”
Avon and Somerset Police confirmed that the criminal investigation would also look into Kneecap’s performance at the festival.
